ENRH installs CCTV cameras to enhance service delivery

The need for surveillance has become a critical component in achieving success in many of today’s business operations. As captured by the words of William Edwards Deming: “In God we trust, everyone else, we monitor”. This is the rationale behind hospital management’s decision to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras throughout the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital. This strategic initiative is part of the hospital’s ongoing efforts to enhance security and improve service delivery for both staff and clients.

The CCTV cameras have been strategically placed in various vantage areas, including the Laboratories, Outpatient Department (OPD), Mortuary, and many other key locations. By providing both pictorial and audio evidence, these cameras will play a critical role in monitoring events remotely and help accurately address incidents reported by clients within the service delivery chain. This measure underscores the hospital’s commitment to prioritizing the interests of its clients and ensuring an enhanced customer care experience.

Over the years, the hospital has received numerous complaints regarding the behavior of both staff and clients, some of which have adversely affected the hospital’s reputation. With the installation of the cameras, management of the facility believes a lot of such complaints will be duly addressed.

A dedicated control room has been established, where the CCTV footage will be monitored around the clock by assigned staff. The captured images will be reviewed whenever incidents are reported, helping to ascertain facts and provide evidence for further action.

In addition to its role in monitoring incidents, the CCTV system is also expected to encourage positive behaviors among both staff and clients. By keeping all individuals accountable, the cameras will help maintain a high standard of conduct and enable the prompt reporting of any suspicious occurrences or incidents for further investigation.

By this initiative management wishes to emphasize that disciplinary actions will be taken against any staff members found in breach of the hospital’s rules and regulations.

This initiative is a testament to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital’s dedication to ensuring a safe, secure, and professional environment for all.

This significant development marks a new chapter in the hospital’s efforts to foster a culture of accountability and excellence in service delivery.
